The previous roundup was for the parents of teenage girls, and today I am sharing some ideas for those of teenage boys. How do I design a stylish and comfortable shared bedroom for teenagers so that both boys will be happy with it? Here are some tips and ideas.
Colors and styles
First, find out what your boys like: colors, patterns, etc., and don’t forget about their hobbies and pastimes. What color scheme will you be using? Neutral, monochrome for a modern feel, or some neutrals with bright splashes? What style will your sons have in their room? Design a cool, modern space in the colors your boys like. Don’t be afraid of bold hues as teenagers usually love them. Go for a cozy, modern farm or an edgy, ultra-minimalist space, try a touch of industrial style for a masculine feel, or make it delicate and inviting – it’s entirely up to your boys and what they love.
Furniture and decor
If there is not enough space for two beds, you can always opt for a bunk bed. A learning zone is a must. If you are short of space, you should opt for multifunctional furniture or wall tables that can be hidden. Create a cool teen lounge area for your boys to invite their friends over and have fun. Don’t forget about some decorations like a gallery wall, posters and lights and other things your sons like – let them add their own decor to the room but do so in style.
