Entryway Design Tips

We shared a lot of ideas for decorating an entrance area in different styles, but we never talked about what should be in your entrance area. We suddenly understood that if you are a person with your first rented or purchased home, you may be considering what to buy or do for your entryway for a cool look and full functionality. Here are some simple design tips that will help!

Offer a seat

Many entrances lack a place to sit, although such a place is very convenient for putting on shoes and does not take up much space – it can only be a chair or a stool. Additionally, you can place a bench that doubles as a storage item – if not, it can have hidden storage space or a shelf – just add it!

Look up

The entrances are often small so you might think this is not a place to define and demonstrate your style and you are wrong here. You can express your way of life and make a statement even in the smallest of spaces. If we take an entrance, you can easily do so with a statement chandelier or lamp. A gallery wall with your own pictures or artwork is also a great idea. Various shadow boxes, memorabilia and wall decorations of any kind are exactly what you need – they will make the entrance area more interesting and save space at the same time. Don’t forget the mirrors! They are beautiful decorations with a lot of functionality: by pointing a mirror directly over the light source, you can essentially double the natural brightness you need for a bigger and airier entry.

Add welcoming touches

Make sure your entrance makes a real impression and the people who come here are comfortable. Place some coat hangers and holders, add essential oils or flavor candles if there is a place for them. With the essentials ready like phone chargers, ice scrapers and umbrellas, you’ll always have what visitors need on hand.
