Los Helechos is a modern oasis in the Bosques de Santa Fe district of Mexico, designed by Chain + Siman and named for the ferns that have been planted around the lush property.
The angular volumes are rounded off by oversized windows that frame the natural surroundings and at the same time fill the interior with light. The multi-storey structure has high ceilings and clean lines that create a feeling of openness and size throughout the spacious home. The main living area extends out onto a terrace equipped with a jacuzzi overlooking the trees. This is a small but very relaxing place to take in the view. The stair area has a double high stone wall that continues to form the exterior of part of the house. Another wall forms the backdrop for their curated art collection.
The main area inside is the living room which is connected to the dining area and which can be opened to the outside if necessary. The space has cool artwork and a fireplace, some contemporary furniture, and a bronze statue on the wall. The bedroom is furnished with a fireplace, long TV, and glass walls to capture the view. The master bathroom is separated from the bedroom by a glass door, and you can see a freestanding bathtub, bench, and long floating vanity there.
