Mother of the Year! She seems to be handling a kindergarten filled with goslings!
Digout, from Saskatoon, Canada, came across the goose family while sitting by the Saskatchewan River. Initially planning to photograph beavers, he was captivated by this extraordinary family.
This dedicated Canadian goose is caring for a large group of 16 goslings!

Digout began returning to the river each night to watch this remarkable family. The increasing number of geese was so mesmerizing that no one could look away. With each visit, the flock seemed to grow, and one evening, the number of goslings jumped from 16 to an impressive 47!
Digout captured the breathtaking scene of the goslings following their mother in the water and shared images of the magnificent mother goose and her numerous babies on Facebook.

The large number of chicks is attributed to a behavior known as “gang brooding,” where multiple pairs of geese parents combine their families to collectively raise the goslings.
This setup means that the mother goose is effectively supervising a large group of goslings while the parent geese take a rest. You could describe her as running a nursery!

The goslings love snuggling beneath their mother, often resting together in a big, cozy pile like one joyful family! Mother Goose will care for them until they are old enough to leave and start their own families.
It’s evident that managing such a large and lively group of young geese is incredibly challenging!
